Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was on a recent tour of the United States, agreed on fighter engines.

Under the agreement, American company General Electric will only produce the F414 engine in India.

To this end, the United States will enter into an agreement with the Indian state-owned company HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited).

This agreement between the two countries will pave the way for the production of Tejas Mark-2 aircraft in India. “Indian Tejas” is scheduled to fly in 2025.

After receiving the General Electric F414, the first Tejas Mk 2 aircraft will take off in 2025.

This was announced at an event in Chandigarh by Prabhulla Chandran, Head of Avionics and Weapons Systems, Aeronautical Development Authority HAL (ADA)

Tejas Mark II aircraft become more powerful when installed with General Electric F414 engines. It will be bigger and heavier than the Tejas Mk 1.

The Tejas Mk 2 is only a single-engine aircraft. Director Prabhulla Chandran said Tejas MK 2 aircraft would be better than Rafale.

The first French and British Rolls-Royce engines were considered aircraft engines.

According to Director Prabhulla Chandran, around 200 Tejas Mk 2 aircraft will be produced and once the engines are made in India, 90% of the parts used in the Tejas MK 2 will be manufactured in India.

Modern radars, weapons and other systems to be installed on aircraft are for domestic use.

The aircraft’s ejection seats and some sensors will be purchased from other countries. It weighs 17.5 tons.

The domestic Tejas Mk 2 fighter is produced by HAL, and production is expected to be completed by 2025-2026.

The Tejas Mark 2 will weigh similarly to the Mirage, Jaguar, and Gripen. That is, it will weigh 17.5 tons.
Aircraft have powerful remote weapons.

Along with advanced AFAR radar, the aircraft is equipped with Astra air-to-air missiles. This is a fully Indian missile manufactured with domestic technology.
