The Ethanolog report states that currently 7,117 languages ​​are spoken worldwide and 456 languages ​​are spoken in India.

There are 23 languages ​​that are spoken by more than half of the world’s population.

If we look at the first language (native) and non-native speakers, English is the biggest language, while Mandarin is at number one as a native language.

It is a matter of fact that Hindi as the native language is in the fourth position, so it is in the third position in terms of the number of speakers in the world.

At the same time, in Indian languages, Bengali is spoken by 26.5 crore, Marathi is 9.5 crore, Telugu is 9.3 crore, Tamil is 8.4 crore and western Punjabi is spoken by 8.3 crore people.

English is spoken by 126.8 million people worldwide and Mendarin is spoken by 112 crore people.

Spanish and French rank fourth and fifth among spoken languages ​​worldwide. Spanish is spoken by 53.8 crore and French by 277 million people.

According to the ethanol report, 2,294 languages ​​are spoken in Asia, 2,144 languages ​​in Africa, 1,313 languages ​​in Pacific and 1,061 languages ​​in America.

At the same time, there are 2,926 languages ​​worldwide, whose existence is in danger.
