Elections for 8 Rajya Sabha seats today, BJP can create a new record with 100 seats. Voting is to be held for biennial elections in Rajya Sabha today.

This time elections were to be held for 13 Rajya Sabha seats, although five Rajya Sabha members of AAP have already been elected unopposed from Punjab.

In the seats where elections are being held today, three will be from Kerala, five from Punjab, and two from Assam.

Apart from this, one Rajya Sabha member each from Himachal, Tripura, and Nagaland will be elected.

BJP may touch the 100 mark today

Let us tell you that BJP has 97 members in Rajya Sabha and after today’s election, the number of the party can increase to 100, which will be seen after many years.

While the party can win one seat each in Assam, Tripura, Himachal, and Nagaland, it is bound to lose one seat in Punjab.

This will be the first time since 1988-90 that a party will have 100 in the Rajya Sabha.

The MPs who are completing their term are Anand Sharma from Himachal Pradesh, Rani Naraha and Ripun Bora from Assam, AK Antony, MV Shreyams Kumar, and Somaprasad from Kerala.

Jharna Das from Tripura, KG Kenye from Nagaland and Punjab. From Sukhdev Singh, Naresh Gujral, Pratap Singh Bajwa, Shwet Malik, and Shamsher Singh Dulo are included.
