Govt is ready to adopt all possible options to end deadlock, Now talk to farmers. There seems to be some progress towards ending the impasse over agricultural laws.

Home Minister Amit Shah has said that Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will meet agitating farmers’ organizations in a day or two.

Apart from keeping the doors open for talks, the govt is also preparing to set up a committee in line with the Supreme Court’s stand.

The process of selection of members for the committee has been started. The delay is happening only because no one came from the farmers’ organizations in the last hearing.

The organizations have not given names to the committee members.

In response to a question during a press conference in Bengal.

Home Minister Shah said, “I am not aware of the time, but Tomar will meet farmers representatives tomorrow or day after tomorrow to discuss their demands.”

So far, the govt has held five rounds of talks with farmers.

However, no solution could be found due to the stance of the adamant farmers on the demand to repeal the three new agricultural laws.

Angry farmers agitation in Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh are agitating over three laws passed by Parliament for agricultural reform.

At the same time, farmers’ organizations from many parts of the country have also started standing in support of agricultural laws.

The government had made a similar proposal earlier.

The way the Supreme Court has said to form a committee in the case, the government had made a similar proposal earlier.

In early December, it was suggested by the government to form a small committee to the farmers’ organizations so that a solution could be found out of the negotiations.

The government on its part mainly wants to keep experts, apart from one or two officers, who have been working for years to make farming and farming profitable.

At that time, there was no mutual agreement between the leaders of farmer organizations.

On the other hand, the attitude of the farmers can be gauged from this that there was no response even to the written proposals from the government.

The govt had proposed the formation of an expert committee during its second and third talks.

At that time there was no mutual agreement between the leaders of the peasant organizations. It was not possible for all the organization leaders to find a place in the committee.

Hence the proposal was rejected. Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar said at the time that he had no objection. Everyone can participate in the talks.

In the negotiations with the government, the attitude of some leaders was aggressive, which remains an obstacle in the path of reconciliation.

Farmers organizations are adamant on stubbornness.

Leaders of farmer organizations are adamant on their insistence on repealing agricultural laws.

Along with the demand to repeal the three laws of agrarian reform passed by Parliament, he has also added the minimum support price (MSP) guarantee to his demand.

The government is willing to give written assurances in support of the demand to continue government procurement of food grains with the MSP.

But the insistence of the peasant organizations is to repeal the laws and enact laws to guarantee the MSP.

There have been many attempts to explain

The government is constantly making efforts to convince the agitating peasant leaders and overcome their apprehensions, despite the harsh cold on the Delhi border.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also advised farmers from many forums to avoid getting misled by political parties regarding the laws of agricultural reform.

He has also said that every fear of farmers can be resolved. The government is ready for this.
