Farmers Protest: Delhi Police to convert 9 stadiums into temporary jail, police asks permission from Kejriwal government.

Tight security arrangements have been made on all the borders of Haryana since Friday morning after the notification of farmers ‘Delhi Cooch’ from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

A heavy security force is stationed at the Indus border at Sonepat. Due to the stringent security check at the Delhi-Gurugram border, several kilometers long jam has been blocked.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has sought permission from the Aam Aadmi Party government to convert the state’s 9 stadium into a temporary jail.

The agitation of farmers in Faridabad on Friday has no significant impact on the Delhi-Badarpur border.

There is still normal movement. Police arrangements are also much less than on Thursday.

Metro services between the cities of Delhi to NCR have been affected since Friday morning due to the demonstration of farmers in Delhi.

According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation officials, the metro is not available to go from Delhi to Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad-Ballabgarh, Gurugram and Bahadurgarh on Friday.

Along with further orders to go from NCR cities to Delhi. Metro is not available till DMRC says that this step has been taken on the instructions of the police due to the farmer movement.

Police force deployed in many places in Delhi

At the same time, Delhi Police and RPF personnel are deployed at Jantar Mantar. Water canon van has also been erected here.

On Thursday, 70 protesters who arrived here from various areas of Delhi were released after detention.

Around 11:30 in the day, 20 farmers came to protest, who raised anti-government slogans and demanded the withdrawal of agricultural laws.

Farmers shouting slogans were told by policemen that they were not allowed to protest due to Covid-19, but were detained if they did not agree.

During this time there was also a brief discussion between the farmers and the police.

Later in the afternoon, some youth also reached Jantar Mantar, who was taken into custody and released.

New Delhi’s DCP Ish Singhal said that farmers and any other organizations are not allowed to protest. If anyone violates it then law action will be taken against him.

On the other hand, some farmers tried to stop the traffic by sitting on the road right in front of Majnu ka Tila Gurdwara, but in time the police took them into custody.

There was a sharp eye on all routes

Delhi Police had barricades on all major routes. Visiting people were checking. Also, people who looked suspicious were asked after seeing the identity card why they had come. He let them go only after the inquiry was over.

Delhi Police had made three-tier security arrangements at Kapashera, Singhu, Tikri, Dhansa, Faridabad, Gurugram border.

Security forces were also deployed along DND, Anand Vihar, Noida-Mayur Vihar, Seemapuri, Ghazipur and other border including Loni.

In Faridabad, Gurugram, and Sonepat, the police points on the highway were blocked.

Meanwhile, Gurugram police took Swaraj India President Yogendra Yadav into custody near Rathiwas village. Some farmers and leaders who reached Jantar Mantar were also detained.

The farmers were stopped at Mohan Nagar intersection in Ghaziabad.

Entrances to closed metro stations

Entrances to the metro stations of NCR remained closed. The exit gates were open so that people going from Delhi could descend.

The situation returned to normal after 5 pm. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday also decided to keep the entry at the Metro station of NCR closed.
