Eknath Shinde Will Be The New Chief Minister Of Maharashtra

Eknath Shinde will be the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis will not join the government.

Rebel Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde will take oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra at 7:30 pm on Thursday. Chief Minister Shinde alone will be sworn in at the Raj Bhavan.

Devendra Fadnavis gave this information in the press conference. The BJP leader also said that he would not join the government.

Fadnavis, who accompanied Eknath Shinde to the press conference, said, “In 2019, BJP and Shiv Sena fought the elections together. We got the full lot.

Our majority was going up to 170 seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also announced the name of the Chief Minister in the rally.

But after the election, Shiv Sena formed an alliance with people whom Balasaheb Thackeray fought for his whole life.

After the resignation of Uddhav Thackeray, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to return to power in the state with the support of rebel Shiv Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde.

Significantly, Uddhav Thackeray had resigned from the post of Chief Minister on Wednesday even before the trust vote to be held on Thursday.

He had also announced his resignation from the membership of the Legislative Council.

Thackeray’s announcement came minutes after the Supreme Court refused to stay the Maharashtra Governor’s direction on Thursday to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government led by him to prove majority in the assembly.

Eknath Shinde said that the decision we have taken is committed to Balasaheb’s Hindutva and development works in the constituencies of our MLAs. We have 50 MLAs with us.

Earlier, both the leaders met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and submitted a list of supporting MLAs to stake claim to form the government.

The BJP said it has the support of a total of 170 MLAs, including those from Shinde’s rebel faction. After the arrival of Eknath Shinde, the Mumbai Police has made elaborate security arrangements.

Roads were kept empty so that Shinde’s convoy was not obstructed while going to ‘Sagar’, the official bungalow of Fadnavis in south Mumbai’s Malabar Hill.
