Former Karnataka Deputy CM and MLA Dr. G Parameshwara today visited Raj Bhavan as a representative of the party and met Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and staked a claim to form the government in Karnataka.

Shivkumar said – there is still a long way to go.

The Congress has given the post of CM to Siddaramaiah and the post of Deputy CM to Karnataka President DK Shivakumar.

Meanwhile, Shivkumar has broken his silence on reports of displeasure with the party.

Shivakumar said that I am not sad about anything and why should I be. He said that I have a long way to go for the Congress party.

Deputy Chief Minister-designate DK Shivakumar said all is well in the party and everyone will work together after the posts are decided after deep deliberations following Congress’ emphatic victory.

In the recently concluded assembly elections in the state, the Congress general secretary announced that party leader Siddaramaiah would be the next chief minister of Karnataka and DK Shivakumar would be his sole deputy.

Along with this, Shivkumar will also remain the Karnataka state president of the Congress till the Lok Sabha elections.

Shivakumar said that everything is fine and will be fine. He also said that Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have said that we all have to work together and accept whatever is given to us.

Earlier, the National President of the Indian Youth Congress Srinivas BV had already honored Shivakumar.

Karnataka will get a new flag on May 20.

The swearing-in ceremony of the new government is expected to take place on May 20. Leaders of opposition parties are also expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
