Sitaram Yechury said – Congress is not in a position to challenge BJP.

CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury has targeted Congress. Yechury, while addressing a press conference on Friday, said that Congress has become weak.

He said that Congress was not in a position to challenge the BJP. The BJP also does not see Congress as a big threat.

Yechury further said, ‘Congress is adopting soft Hindutva. This is giving a boost to the Hindutva agenda. Congress does the same. Congress is only weak today.

Many in the BJP and the RSS do not see the Congress as a major threat, as any Congress leader can leave the party and join the BJP at any time.

So a weak Congress is unable to take up this challenge.

On the opposition alliance, Yechury said a strong Left would be able to bring all secular forces together.

He said that on several occasions in Kerala, Congress played a game with the BJP against the LDF government. This kind of compromising attitude can’t be helped.

He said analysis and alliances in the states would be an effective solution to defeat the ruling BJP at the Centre.
