CBI Registers Nine Cases In Relation To Post-Poll Violence In WB

CBI registers nine cases in relation to post-poll violence in Bengal: Bengal violence.

After the order of the Calcutta High Court regarding the post-poll violence case in Bengal, the CBI has increased its activism regarding the investigation.

The CBI has now registered nine cases after constituting a team of 109 officers to probe the post-poll violence.

CBI sources gave this information on Thursday.

Along with this, all the four CBI units formed to investigate the violence are also sending their teams from Kolkata to the respective crime places.

Let us tell you that the CBI has entrusted the investigation of the post-poll violence case to Akhilesh Singh, the officer investigating the coal and cattle smuggling case.

Akhilesh Singh will now take over the additional responsibility of the Special Crime Branch. He has been made the head of the Special Crime Branch.

He will investigate serious cases like murder and rape during the violence.

Let us inform that on the instructions of the High Court, the CBI will investigate serious cases including murder, attempt to murder, rape after the elections.

While the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of three IPS officers headed by a former Supreme Court judge will investigate less serious cases.  The CBI has divided Bengal into four zones for investigation.

The CBI team of these four zones will be headed by four officers of the rank of Joint Director, who have reached Kolkata.

The CBI’s investigation team includes DIG of Eastern Region Akhilesh Kumar Singh, besides four Joint Directors of CBI.

The CBI has already constituted four Special Investigation Teams (SITs) headed by four joint directors. There are a total of 30 officers in these four teams.

CBI will proceed with the investigation process from a separate camp office.

The investigation into the post-poll violence will not take place at the permanent CBI’s CGO Complex in Salt Lake or the Nizam’s Palace office.

For this, a temporary camp office will be set up in a building of the Port Trust for the special teams of CBI. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) will also have its office in the same CBI office premises.

CBI sources revealed that the reason for choosing the third place is that the team to investigate the violence will be bigger.

In such a situation, the office located at Nizam’s Palace or CGO Complex will be small.

In addition to the four Joint Directors of Investigators, there will be many more officers including SP, DSP, Inspector, Sub-Inspector.
