Bhagwant Mann claims to form government in Punjab, takes oath on 16th, Venu Prasad will be the new CM’s principal secretary.
After the Aam Aadmi Party’s landslide victory in the Punjab Assembly elections, Bhagwant Mann today called on Governor Banwari Lal Purohit.
He met the Governor of Punjab and handed over the support of all the MLAs and staked claim to form the next government in the state.
The governor has accepted his claim. The governor invited him to form the next government. On the other hand, senior IAS officer Venu Prasad will be the principal secretary to Bhagwant Mann.
A Venuprasad, a 1991 batch IAS officer, is currently the Additional Chief Secretary of Taxation. He will replace Husan Lal.
The orders for the new appointment of Husan Lal have not come yet.
There will be a ceremony at Khatkar Kalan on March 16 at 12.30 pm for Bhagwant Mann to take oath as the CM. Bhagwant Mann said that all the people of Punjab are invited to this function.
Every Punjabi has to take oath on this occasion. Everything will be for the progress of Punjab and he will take oath in Punjabi.
Many leaders including Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of mangoes, will be present at the swearing-in ceremony.
Bhagwant Mann reached Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit in the morning and presented a claim letter to him along with the list of MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party to form the next government in Punjab.
Bhagwant Mann, the President of Aam Aadmi Party and the next CM of Punjab, said that we will make a good cabinet and there will be historic decisions.
He said that this will be the government of the people and will run from among the people.
The government of the Aam Aadmi Party will be the government of the people of Punjab and we will do our best to take the state in a new direction.
He said that we will fulfill the promises made to the people of Punjab and our goal will be to serve the people.
Talking to media persons outside the Raj Bhavan after meeting the Governor, Bhagwant Mann said that people from all over Punjab will reach the swearing-in ceremony.
He will also pay tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. He said that with the formation of a good cabinet, he will take historic decisions, which have never been done before. So you wait for a little.
Bhagwat Mann said I submitted a claim to form the government by giving a list of MLAs to the Governor.
The Governor accepted this and asked where he (Bhagwant Mann) would like to take an oath.
I told him that Shaheed Azam would take oath in Khatkar Kalan, the village of Bhagat Singh. The swearing-in ceremony will be held on March 16 at 12.30 in Khatkar Kalan.
Whether a minister will take the oath with Bhagwant Mann is not yet clear, but it is believed that some ministers may also take the oath with him.
There is a lot of discussion and speculation about the names of the ministers.
Let us inform you that in the Punjab Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party registered a thumping victory and got 92 seats. The Congress, which came second, got 18 seats.
