Avani Lekhara Won The Country’s First Gold Medal In Paralympics
Avani Lekhara won the country’s first gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, equaling the world record: Tokyo Paralympics 2020.
India also got the first gold medal in the ongoing Paralympic Games in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.

Avani is the first Indian woman athlete to win a gold medal in the Paralympics.
Avani Lekhara has won the gold medal in her first Paralympic Games. She scored around 250 in the Para Shooting 10m Air Rifles Standing SH1 final.
This is also a world record in para shooting in this competition, but the same score i.e. 249.6 has been scored by a para shooter in the past as well.
However, no player has scored so much in the Paralympic Games in the history of these Games.
In the final, Awani beat Yang Si of China by just a few points. China’s para shooter had 248.9 points, while Avani’s score was beyond 249.
However, Ukraine’s Ai Schetnik, who won the bronze medal by finishing third, scored 227.5.
In this way, the fight for gold and silver medal was tough, which was finally won by Indian para shooter Avani Lekhara and got the country the first gold medal in this time’s Olympic Games.
Talking about the Tokyo Paralympics, before Avani, India got three medals on the occasion of Sports Day on Sunday.
Table tennis player Bhavina Patel won the silver medal, while Nishad Kumar also won the silver medal in the high jump.
Disc thrower Vinod Kumar won the bronze medal, while on Monday, Avani brought laurels to the country by winning the gold medal.
