Ashraf Ghani said he was forced to leave Kabul. Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said that he was forced to leave the country to save Kabul from destruction by Taliban fighters.

He said that he had abandoned his country to save Kabul from destruction. In his first interview four months after leaving the country, he said this on Thursday.

Former President Ghani said, ‘It was a difficult decision for me to leave the country. A consultant gave me only a few minutes to make the decision to leave Kabul.

After getting into the helicopter, I could not believe that this was my last day in the country. The Taliban had become so dominant that the security forces could not protect me for long.

The Taliban were moving towards us from two sides. I had understood that even the people who were protecting me would not be able to escape from the Taliban.

In such a situation, there would have been great devastation in Kabul. A city with a population of 50 lakhs would have been destroyed.

Former Afghanistan President Ghani was included in the list of corrupt people.

The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) has released the list of corrupt leaders of 2021 this year. Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has also been included in this list.

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, tops this list of the most corrupt people in the world.

The list also includes Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Australian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.

According to the OCCRP, Ashraf Ghani had left his people grieving and starving to death. So that he can live in peace with other corrupt comrades like himself in UAE.

Drew Sullivan, the co-founder of the organization, said a panel of six journalists and scholars found Ghani to be “deeply engrossed in corruption”.
