Ever since Congress won only one out of ten seats in Maharashtra’s MLC elections.
The buzz has intensified that several Maharashtra Congress MLAs are in touch with the BJP and are likely to switch sides soon.
Since Congress leaders like Prithviraj Chavan and Chandrakant Handore alleged that some Congress MLAs did cross-voting during the MLC elections.
Many leaders including Chavan have also come under the scanner since then.
Notably, Congress’s Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidate Chandrakant Handore was defeated in the MLS elections.
Maharashtra Congress Legislature Party leader Balasaheb Thorat also denied reports of the possible resignation of Ashok Chavan.
Thorat said, Ashok Chavan is completely devoted to the Congress and he is currently engaged in all necessary preparations for the Congress’s visit to India. Whatever news is being spread about him is not true.
Speaking in the same state Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that whatever I had to say, I have said it in the assembly and everyone knows the condition of Congress.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party and said that BJP has come up with a model of fifty thousand crores.
“Operation leaders are being put under pressure by central agencies like ED, CBI which we saw in West Bengal, and due to the same model our leader Sanjay Raut has also been put behind bars,” Chaturvedi said.
Chaturvedi said BJP wants to run the government on the basis of that model. As far as Chavan’s resignation from the party is concerned, he has clarified his stand on speculations.
