Farmers will own the land. The government will not let an inch of land be snatched away from the farmers.

Taking a dig at the Congress, the Agriculture Minister said that the Congress had implemented the report of the Swaminathan Committee, which had been suppressed for six years.

The Congress, which included the provisions of these reforms in the Election Manifesto, is itself reversing. These reforms have been discussed since 2001.

The Modi government has decided to improve agriculture in the interest of farmers. The exemption to sell produce outside the market will open the way for farmers to get better prices.
