Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar speaks on agriculture bill – Congress is misleading farmers for personal interest. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the leadership of Congress has become ineffective, it does not understand agriculture and the party is trying to mislead farmers for their vested interests.
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar gave this statement in an exclusive interview to the leading news agency. In an exclusive interview with leading news agency, Tomar strongly attacked Congress over its opposition to agricultural bills, saying that the opposition party does not listen to good people and its leadership is in the hands of those who are not heard by the people.
The Agriculture Minister said that I understand that the leadership of the Congress has become dwarfed. Tomar said that neither they understand agriculture nor the good or bad of the country. Good people are not being heard in Congress and the leadership of the party is in the hands of people whom people do not listen to, even inside the party. ”Tomar is trying to mislead the country by saying this.
He said that Congress leaders were trying to mislead the farmers, as they felt that the work which they could not do for years under UPA is now being done. They said they could do it, but they could not muster the courage. Tomar said that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and former Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar wanted to improve, but could not do so under pressure.
‘Distance between traders and farmers will be reduced
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar also said that the new agriculture bills recently passed by Parliament will reduce the distance between traders and farmers. In an exclusive interview with the news agency, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that after the Agriculture Bill, traders will come to their own homes to purchase the product.
Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that farmers are aware of their rights. Politicians and farmer leaders who think they are experts are not so. Farmers understand everything and know who will buy its produce.
For example, the traders have to buy the product and when the product does not reach the mandis, the traders will be forced to visit the farmer’s village and build a cordial relationship with the farmers and buy the farmers’ produce at their home.
Agriculture Minister Tomar said that the new bill will give freedom to farmers and save their money. He further said that small farmers fail to bring their produce to the mandi, fearing that the logistic cost will reduce their chances of benefiting. Sometimes, when they bring their produce to the mandis, they are not even able to take advantage of the minimum support price (MSP) offered by the government.
We are now giving them the freedom to sell their produce from their homes, farms, and godowns. Now, traders will visit the farmers. Earlier farmers used to visit the traders and took whatever money was given by the traders.
Tomar further elaborated that going to the traders to the farmers would save the farmers money which they used to spend on logistics. He said that earlier farmers were obliged to sell their crops at the rate fixed by the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) and now they can sell their produce anywhere.
