An encounter started between terrorists and security forces late Monday night in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. Based on intelligence inputs, several surveillance and search operations were conducted by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF in the Panjtirthi area of ​​​​Kathua.

Suspicious activity was observed on the night of March 31, which led to firing. On Tuesday (01 April) morning, the search and elimination operation was started again. According to the information received from the Indian Army, the search operation is still going on in the area.

It is believed that three terrorists are trapped in the cordon, who fled from the spot after the killing of their two fellow terrorists in Sufan. Sources said that given the violent encounter, a cordon was put in place at night to prevent the three terrorists trapped in the forest from escaping. Earlier in the day, Deputy Inspector General Shiv Kumar Sharma said the operation will continue till the last terrorist is killed. He urged people living near the border to report any suspicious activity.
