84-year-old Pranab Mukherjee, who was the President of the country from 2012 to 2017, tweeted himself on Monday, “I was found Covid-19 positive when I came to the hospital for a different job.” I request the people who came in contact with me last week to go into isolation and get the Covid-19 checked.

President Ramnath Kovind has wished for Pranab Mukherjee to recover soon. He spoke to Mukherjee’s daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee and inquired about his father’s health.

Rashtrapati Bhavan tweeted, ‘The President talked to Sharmishtha Mukherjee and inquired about the health of her father, former President Pranab Mukherjee. The President wished him a speedy recovery and good health.

Earlier, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh went to the RR Hospital and inquired about the health of the former President. He remained in the hospital for about 20 minutes.

Several party leaders, including Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, wished Mukherjee to recover soon. The Congress party tweeted on its official Twitter handle, we wish the former president a quick recovery from COVID.

Congress leader and former President’s son Abhijit Mukherjee tweeted, I pray for my father’s early recovery. I also appeal to all my countrymen to pray for their recovery and good health.

Leaders of various parties, including Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, DMK President MK Stalin, have wished the former President a quick recovery.
