Assam: two communities clash over the Bhumipooja ceremony of Ram temple, Army withdraws flag march. The Army took out a flag march on Thursday in Sonitpur district of Assam.
Actually, on the occasion of Bhumi Pujan for the construction of Ram temple here, Bajrang Dal activists took out a bike rally and were going towards the Bhora Singori temple with shouting slogans and going towards the Bhora Singori temple.
The quarrel ensued after they questioned them and the mass organization in view of Covid-19. Sonitpur District Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh’s vehicle, which arrived at the scene soon after the incident, was also damaged.
To control the situation, the police first lathi-charged and then fired in the air. Additional security forces were deployed in the area following the incident of fire on bikes and transport. District Deputy Commissioner told that no permission has been taken for this rally.
Bike rally was organized by Bajrang Dal activists in the joy of construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya by Bajrang Dal activists. Officials said curfew was in force indefinitely at Thalamara and Dhekiajuli police stations in the district.
In addition to Sonitpur, Superintendent of Police Numal Mehta told the Army that Army personnel took out a flag march on the request of the district administration. We have already taken two people into custody for questioning.
He said, ‘No incident of any kind has been reported since last night. The situation is completely under control. Mehta further said that about ten people were injured on both sides.
The Bajrang Dal has claimed that around 12 of its workers have been injured. Meanwhile, sources said that the Additional Director General of Police, Gyanendra Pratap Singh, has been asked to inspect the area of the accident and they have left for it. Sonitpur Superintendent of Police Mugdhajyoti Dev Mahanta is also on the spot since Wednesday evening.
