Scott Boland Was Included In Australian Team For Ashes Series

Scott Boland was included in the Australian team for the Boxing Day test match of the Ashes series.

Cricket Australia on Monday announced the squad for the remaining three matches of the Ashes series.

At the same time, on Tuesday, Cricket Australia has included one more player in the squad for the third Test match of the five-match series.

Victorian fast bowler Scott Boland was on Tuesday named in Australia’s squad for the Ashes Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.

“Boland is training with the team in Adelaide and has joined the team, while the medical team is assessing the fast bowling group after the second Test win,” Cricket Australia said in an official press release.

Scott Boland, the 2018–19 Marsh Sheffield Shield Player of the Year, took 15 wickets at an average of 10 in two matches for Victoria against New South Wales this season.

He also played a warm-up match against the English Lions with Test debutant Michael Neser in Brisbane before joining the team in Adelaide.

Australia leads the ongoing Ashes series 2-0 after winning the second Test at the Oval in Adelaide.

The team management would like to rest the fast bowlers in view of the workload in the third match and in such a situation, Scott Boland should be replaced in the playing XI.
