Anil Kumar Pandey, OSD to Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) minister Jitin Prasada, has been transferred.
While five other officers have been suspended following allegations of irregularities and corruption in the state government’s PWD department.
The PWD department is under Jitin Prasada and his department is under question over allegations of corruption in transfer postings.
PWD Minister Jitin Prasad’s OSD Anil Kumar Pandey has been found guilty in the transfer-related corruption case, which has been blamed on him and he has been relieved with immediate effect.
Not only this, vigilance inquiry and departmental action have also been recommended against Anil Pandey, who came on deputation from the Government of India.
Yogi government’s big action: Jitin Prasad had brought Pandey from Delhi to UP.
After the action against Anil Kumar Pandey on July 18, a total of five officers including Manoj Gupta, the head of the Public Works Department i.e. PWD and Chief Engineer, have been suspended due to transfer irregularities in the Public Works Department.
Pandey has worked with Jitin Prasad in the past when Jitin Prasada was a Union minister in the UPA government and was brought to Lucknow on deputation.
Two more PWD officers are also accused of irregularities in transfers in the department.
It is believed that after this matter, Jitin Prasad had met UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and today i.e. on Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also likely to meet.
At present, Jitin Prasad is neither talking nor answering anyone’s calls.
Earlier, the Yogi government had to face embarrassment when Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak himself raised questions about the transfers in his health and medical education department.
The minister had written a letter to the top officials of his own department seeking answers. Later it was said that the matter was resolved.
