Vijayan government’s mission: 20 lakh jobs to be created in next five years in Kerala.
The Government of Kerala has started a mission to create new employment opportunities. Through this mission, 20 lakh better job opportunities will be made available in the next five years.
A senior official of the Kerala government has given this information. The official said that a strategy has been discussed in order to make the state a knowledge society.
Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan KM Abraham told that the strategy has been prepared on the basis of the decisions taken in the first cabinet meeting after the new government came to power.
Skill training will be imparted to students in higher education institutions through the Knowledge Economy Mission of the Government of Kerala.

In this scheme, facilities will also be given to those who come back after going abroad, as well as those who have taken education here but are unemployed, they will be provided opportunities.
Apart from this, the scheme also includes people who have dropped out of school. According to Abraham, 6 thousand crore rupees will be spent on this project in five years.
A Digital Workforce Management System (DWMS) will be set up as part of this Kerala Knowledge-Economy Mission.
It will be a huge platform that will involve employers, job seekers, and different types of trainers.
In the private sector, huge employment platforms such as Monster.com and Freelancer.com are already operating internationally.
Kerala will seek the help and cooperation of such global agencies for a new employment platform.
He said that through DWMS there is a democratization of opportunities by including those who do not have access to the private sector.
He also said that the great idea of a knowledge society will pave the way for the biggest social change that will take place in Kerala after mass planning.
