Karnataka Election: CM Basavaraj Bommai accepted BJP’s defeat, and said – Despite all the efforts, the target could not be achieved, there will be intense churning.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has accepted the defeat of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Karnataka assembly elections.

In the election results till noon, the Congress’s lead crossed 120. The Congress party had crossed the majority mark of 113 by 10 am when the counting of votes for the assembly elections held on Thursday began this morning.

After this, Bommai told reporters that despite all the efforts of the Prime Minister and BJP workers, we have not been able to achieve the target.

Basavaraj Bommai said that ‘We are taking this result as our attempt to return in the Lok Sabha elections.’ Bommai had earlier said that he was confident of BJP’s victory.

He had claimed that Congress was trying to reach out to other parties as it did not trust its MLAs. Bommai also said that the BJP will return victorious in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Bommai said that once the results are out, a detailed inquiry will be conducted into the lapses at various levels.

Till noon, the Congress was leading in 124 seats, while the BJP was leading in 69 seats and the JD(S) in 24 seats.
