Gyanvapi Mosque Case: Supreme Court stayed the order for carbon dating of Shivling, HC had given the order.

The Supreme Court on Friday heard the petition of the Masjid Committee in the Gyanvapi Masjid case of Varanasi.

Meanwhile, the apex court has stayed the scientific test including the carbon dating of Shivling found in Gyanvapi mosque till the next hearing.

The Supreme Court said that the implementation of the instructions related to the order of the Allahabad High Court will be postponed till the next date.

HC had ordered carbon dating.

The Muslim side had moved the Supreme Court against the High Court’s order to conduct a scientific test of the Shivling found during the survey in the Gyanvapi Masjid premises.

In such a situation, the apex court has stayed the carbon dating till the next hearing.

On May 12, the Allahabad High Court ordered carbon dating under the supervision of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to ascertain the antiquity of the Shivling found during the survey at the Gyanvapi mosque.
