Erdogan Took Oath As President Of Turkey After A Historic Victory

Erdogan took oath as President of Turkey after a historic victory, Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif also attended.

Turkey’s long-time leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan was sworn in on Saturday for his third term as president. He has also been the Prime Minister of the country three times.

Erdogan, 69, was elected to a new five-year term in last week’s presidential election.

With this, the way was paved to extend his 20-year rule in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) member country for another five-year term.

Erdoğan, after remaining in power as prime minister, has been the country’s president since 2003.

Millions of refugees live in Turkey.

Turkey, with a population of 85 million, has the largest number of troops in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) after the US. Millions of refugees have taken refuge in Turkey.

Also, the country played a major role in averting a global food crisis by mediating an agreement on the transportation of Ukraine’s grain.

Erdogan took oath as President of Turkey: Erdogan will soon announce the new cabinet.

Erdogan was sworn in as president at a session of parliament before a swearing-in ceremony at the Presidential Palace complex.

Despite heavy rain, his supporters were seen waiting for him outside Parliament.

Erdoğan will announce his new cabinet late in the evening, indicating whether the country will continue with non-conservative economic policies, or return to more traditional policies.

Dozens of foreign guests are traveling to Turkey to attend the swearing-in ceremony, including NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt.
