US Russia France Asked Armenia & Azerbaijan To Stop Violence

US Russia and France asked Armenia and Azerbaijan to stop violence, Turkey adamant, the situation is likely to deteriorate. The presidents of France, Russia, and the United States have called for an immediate halt to the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

But Turkey has denied the talk of the three superpowers, saying that they are not needed for peace efforts. These countries have no role in this war. The situation has worsened with Turkey sending militant groups from Syria and Libya into the violence-ridden region.

30 thousand people were killed in the war lasting from 1991 to 1994

In 1992, the Minsk Group was formed by France, Russia and the United States to monitor the Nagorno-Karabakh mountain region dispute. The war in the area from 1991 to 1994 killed 30,000 people.

Hundreds of people have been killed and injured in the latest conflict that broke out for the first time since that confrontation. The Nagorno-Karabakh region in which the conflict broke out is in the territory of Azerbaijan but its majority population is of Armenians.

Told to stop fighting

This is also the main reason for the collision. The joint statement of France, Russia and the US called on all the allied forces to cease fighting immediately. In the statement, both the former Soviet countries have been told to start an unconditional dialogue without delay and to resolve the causes of the conflict.

Turkey expresses opposition

Shortly before the release of the joint statement, President Tayyip Erdogan protested against the interference of the three countries while addressing the Turkish Parliament. Said, America, Russia and France ignored this problem for 30 years.

So now if they are talking about a ceasefire then that is unacceptable. Now the ceasefire will only happen when the Armenian occupants leave the Nagorno-Karabakh area vacated. Erdogan’s statement has added to tensions in NATO and the conflict zone.

Friend from Turkey’s Azerbaijan

It is noteworthy that Russia has a military base in Christian-dominated Armenia, while Turkey has good relations with Muslim-majority Azerbaijan. By the way, Russia also has good relations with Azerbaijan, due to which it does not want a confrontation between the two countries.

On Wednesday, telephone talks were held between French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Both had agreed to an immediate ceasefire in the area. A few hours later, US President Donald Trump also agreed to the proposal.
