US company to maintain Indian Air Force’s Super Hercules aircraft, deal for $ 328.8 million.
The Indian Air Force has signed a five-year, $328.8 million contract with American company Lockheed Martin to undertake extensive maintenance of its fleet of a dozen C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft.
Lockheed Martin is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the C-130J aircraft.
“Through this Follow-on Support-2 (FOS-2) contract, the Lockheed Martin team will provide the necessary equipment and engineering support for the maintenance of the Indian Air Force’s C-130J fleet,” the company said in a statement.
US company to maintain Indian Air Force’s Super Hercules aircraft: The contract is in continuation of the earlier five-year FOS-1 contract.
The company says it is an honor to continue to partner with the Indian Air Force in maintaining one of the most active C-130J fleets in the world.
Through an integrated team and dedicated support, Lockheed Martin ensures that the IAF’s fleet of C-130J aircraft is available and ready for every mission.
Five C-130J aircraft will also be serviced for 12 years through the FOS-2 contract. This will be done from 2022 at the Lockheed Martin-approved Heavy Maintenance Center (SMC).
