US Committee Emphasizes On Increasing Security Relations
US committee emphasizes on increasing security relations with India, says- Consultation and cooperation should be increased.
A powerful US parliamentary committee has approved the China Strategic Competition Bill with an overwhelming majority.
It has, among other things, laid emphasis on supporting the Quad Group and enhancing security relations with India. The Quad is an alliance of India, America, Australia and Japan.
Since its formation in 2007, representatives of the four countries have met at regular intervals. Last month, there was a historic virtual conference of top leaders of the four countries, which was hosted by US President Joe Biden.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee accepted the Strategic Competition Bill by an overwhelming majority of 21–1, after a three-hour debate and several amendments.
The Bill states that the US should be committed to a broad global strategic partnership with India.
Apart from this, consultation and cooperation in the field of bilateral security should also be increased. It says that America should negotiate with India and identify areas in which it can help it.
This will enable India to meet the challenges posed by China. Senators Jim Rich and Bab Menge described the bill as unprecedented.
It calls for all US strategic, economic and diplomatic policies to be united for the Indo-Pacific strategy, so that the US can meet the challenges facing China in the coming decades.

Underlining the importance of Sikh Awareness Month, he said that hate crimes and violence are increasing with the Sikh-American community.
While addressing Parliament, Krishnamurthy said that he wanted the month of April to be recognized as Sikh Awareness Month in his home state.
This recognition is the need of the hour. We can honor them by doing so in the escalating violence with the Sikh community.
