Union Minister’s Son Ashish Mishra Arrested: Lakhimpur Kheri

Union Minister’s son Ashish Mishra was arrested, sent to judicial custody in the Lakhimpur Kheri case.

Ashish Mishra ‘Monu’, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni, the main accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, who till now escaped from the eyes of the police.

He was arrested late on Saturday night after 12 hours of continuous interrogation. He has been arrested for not cooperating in the investigation.

SIT in charge of DIG Upendra Agrawal announced the arrest of Monu after coming out of the crime branch office at around 10:50 pm.

Monu was produced before Special Judicial Officer Diksha Bharti late on Saturday night. He ordered a hearing on Monday and ordered him to be sent to jail.

This is the third arrest in this case. Before Monu, Ashish Pandey and Lavkush Rana were arrested on October 7. Both were sent to judicial custody on Friday.

It is said that Monu produced 13 videos during interrogation. These videos became the reason for his arrest. During the scrutiny of the video, the footage between 2:20 and 3:36 am could not be found.

Monu could not even prove that he was present in the riot during the violence. Sources say that Monu was sitting in a conspiracy jeep.

On what charges the arrest: According to SIT chief Upendra Agarwal, Monu was not cooperating in the investigation and gave non-logical answers to the questions. So he was arrested.

Earlier in the day, Monu reached the crime branch himself riding on a scooty where the police took him into custody and interrogated him for about 12 hours.

During this SDM Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Singh also reached there and stayed for about one and a half hours. The interrogation has also been videographed.

Ashish Mishra is the accused in the death of farmers in Tikunia on October 3. The police had posted a notice at his residence on Thursday asking him to appear by 10 am on Friday, but he did not come.

On Friday, the police had again issued a summons and asked them to appear before them at 11 am on Saturday.

But, 20 minutes before that, he tied a handkerchief over his mouth and reached the crime branch office in a blue scooty.

There, the head of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), Upendra Agrawal, DIG of Police Headquarters asked him many questions one after the other.

The investigation team had already prepared their list of questions. Some questions were also asked regarding the evidence provided by Ashish.

According to sources, Ashish has given videos of his presence in the village during the incident. Many arguments were also made.

It has also been learned that about 10 people have given affidavits in favor of Monu that he was in Banveerpur village at the time of the incident.

SP Vijay Dhul and ASP Arun Kumar Singh also questioned Ashish. When SP Vijay Dhul came out twice, the media surrounded him but he refused to give any information.

It is said that Sadar MLA Yogesh Verma had left alone shortly before riding on the scooty from which Ashish reached the police line, but later when this scooty reached the police line, Ashish was seen on it.

When Monu reached the crime branch office, he was accompanied by MP representative Arvind Kumar Singh Sanjay, Sadar MLA Yogesh Verma, and two lawyers.

Supporters gathered at the MP’s office: During the police interrogation of Ashish, there was a gathering of supporters at the office of his father Kheri MP Ajay Mishra.

Meanwhile, supporters also raised slogans. The MP appealed to the slogan-shouting supporters to remain calm.

Ajay Mishra said that he has full faith in the law. The crime branch at Police Lines is just 200 meters away from his parliamentary office.

Whoever is guilty, there will be no relief at any cost: Uttar Pradesh Law and Law Minister Brajesh Pathak said that Uttar Pradesh has a zero-tolerance policy regarding crime and criminals.

Minister Pathak said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already said about the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri that no action will be taken against anyone just on the allegation.

Whoever is guilty in this case will not be given any relief at any cost. Now no matter is being hushed up by the government in the state.

All the facts are being investigated and action will be taken against the guilty who will come out in the investigation.
