UNGA: America and Israel voted against it.

The resolution requests the International Court of Justice, the highest judicial body of the United Nations, to advise on the right of self-determination of the Palestinian people since 1967 by Israel’s occupation, settlements, and attacks on Palestinian territory.

What could be the consequences of violation? The US and Israel voted against the draft resolution, while India, Brazil, Japan, Myanmar, and France abstained.

Ahead of the vote, Israel’s UN envoy Gilad Erdan said the “disgraceful proposal” for the opinion of the International Court of Justice was a “moral blot” on the UN and every country that supports it.

No global frame can determine that the Jewish human beings are `occupiers’ of their very own homeland.

Any decision of the judicial body, which decides on the orders of the United Nations, which is morally bankrupt and politically motivated, will be illegitimate.

UNGA: Palestine welcomed the proposal.

According to a news agency, the Palestinians welcomed the passing of a UN resolution on the alleged Israeli occupation of their part of the country.

Nabil Abu Rudineh, a spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said: “The time has come to make Israel a legal party and hold it accountable for the ongoing crimes against our people.”
