UN Chief’s Appeal To Reduce Tension Between US-China

UN Chief’s appeal to reduce tension between US-China. He said – hold talks on trade, technology.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for dialogue between the United States and China on trade and technology to avoid polarization of the global market and economy.

Commenting on Washington’s years-old technology dispute with China, Guterres said he has always advocated a unified global market and a global economy, Xinhua news agency reported.

Antonio Guterres said in the press conference that, at all costs, we should avoid dividing the world into two parts.

Each with its own economic system and rules, each with its own major currency, each with its own internet, and each has its own technical strategy and artificial intelligence.

Guterres said that to avert such a scenario, he has urged the world’s two largest economies to establish a common base on trade and technology through communication and dialogue.

Now, it is clear that, at the present time, there are many differences, he said, adding that I have been advocating, with both the US and China, the importance of a serious dialogue.
