Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has now lost his control over the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) amidst the constant setbacks.

Eknath Shinde, 66 councilors of Shiv Sena of Thane Municipal Corporation, has joined the camp.

According to sources, all these 66 rebel councilors met the new Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at his residence late on Wednesday night.

In this way, Uddhav Thackeray’s control over TMC ended with the defection of 66 out of 67 Shiv Sena councilors.

According to the information received, Thane Municipal Corporation is the most important civic body in Maharashtra after Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

Uddhav Thackeray was forced to resign from the post of Chief Minister after the revolt started by senior leader Eknath Shinde against Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray.

Due to this, the three-party Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra fell on 29 June.

A day after Uddhav Thackeray resigned, Eknath Shinde took oath as the Chief Minister of the state with the support of 40 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs and Independents.

While senior BJP leader and former CM Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the Deputy CM.

Uddhav Thackeray changed the Chief Whip in Lok Sabha to stop the growing influence of the Eknath Shinde camp.

Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray has removed Bhavna Gawli, the party’s chief whip in the Lok Sabha.

Gawli had suggested that the Shiv Sena should restore its decades-old ties with the BJP in view of the rebellion led by Eknath Shinde.

After this, the Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray removed Bhavna Gawli from the post of Chief Whip in the Lok Sabha and nominated Rajan Vichare in his place.

According to the news of news agency, this information was shared by Shiv Sena’s Rajya Sabha MP and spokesperson Sanjay Raut.

“You are informed that Shiv Sena Parliamentary Party has nominated Rajan Vichare as Chief Whip in Lok Sabha in place of MP Bhavna Gawli with immediate effect.

” Raut wrote to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi.”

Bhawna Gawli represents the Yavatmal-Washim constituency in eastern Maharashtra.

She was one of the Shiv Sena MPs who suggested that the Shiv Sena should restore its decades-old ties with the BJP in the wake of the Eknath Shinde-led rebellion.

Rajan Vichare represents Thane in the Lok Sabha. Eknath Shinde is also from Thane. Shiv Sena has 18 MPs in Lok Sabha and three in Rajya Sabha.
