Two Big Clusters Of Coronavirus Surfaced In Chennai

Two big clusters of coronavirus surfaced in Chennai, 6 children were also found positive. Two new clusters of coronavirus have emerged one after the other in Chennai.

This has raised the concerns of the local administration. A gated community here in Chennai’s Sholinganallur has emerged as Chennai’s second major COVID-19 cluster.

This new cluster of coronavirus is different from the corona cluster found at a religious gathering in Kilpauk.

According to Dr. J Radhakrishnan, Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, 23 people, including 15 adults, who have taken one or two doses of the COVID vaccine have tested positive.

Along with this, the test of six children has also been found positive.

The second large cluster of coronavirus was detected in Zone-15 and Division 197 at Ramaniyam Gaurav Apartments.

Model School Road, Sholinganallur (Block Two) is a cause of concern for health officials, who are busy doing sensitization of the area making people aware of safety precautions related to COVID-19.

On August 2, at a religious gathering at a temple in Vardhammal Garden Street near Kilpauk, 24 people were infected with a coronavirus and a 47-year-old woman died.

A senior official said around 300 people had gathered for the annual religious event and even the temple trustees were infected by the virus.

A total of 398 samples were taken from people at Ramaniya Gaurav Apartment here and 23 of them were found to test positive.

Dr. Radhakrishnan who inspected the apartment this morning said that four of them have received one dose of the corona vaccine while 11 have received two doses of the vaccine.

He was accompanied by Simranjit, Regional Deputy Commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation, Zonal Health Officer Dr. Usha, Zonal Officer Sukumar, and other officials.

He told the leading news agency that six children in the age group of 1 to 10 years and six children with fever and asymptomatic were sent home. Isolation has been advised.
