Three Jharkhand Congress MLAs Caught With Cash In Bengal

Three Jharkhand Congress MLAs caught with huge cash in Bengal were suspended from the party.

Congress has suspended three Jharkhand Congress MLAs who were detained with a huge amount of cash from Howrah in Bengal late on Saturday evening.

Jharkhand Congress in-charge and party general secretary Avinash Pandey announced the suspension of three MLAs namely Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachhap, and Naman Vixal from the party.

At a press conference in Delhi on Sunday, Pandey said that any public representative, party’s responsible office-bearer, or any worker, we have the information of everyone.

In the coming days, whoever is found connected or involved in it, the party will take action against him.

It is worth mentioning that on the basis of a tip-off, the Howrah Rural Police had detained the three MLAs with cash during a search of the vehicle on NH 16 near Ranihati Mor of Panchla police station area here late on Saturday evening.

According to police sources, cash worth around Rs 50 lakh has been recovered from the vehicle. This cash was seized from the vehicle of the MLA of Jamtara, in which all the three MLAs were traveling.

Here, the Howrah Police interrogated the three MLAs overnight. The three MLAs are still kept in the Panchla police station.

In the morning the team of the Income Tax Department also reached out for questioning and is investigating.

Here, the family members of Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari have also reached Howrah in the morning and have alleged conspiracy behind this development.

The family has claimed that the MLAs come to Kolkata’s Barabazar every year to buy sarees for the Jharkhand festival and the money is associated with that.

On the other hand, police sources say that there has been an inconsistency in the statements of the three MLAs.

Explain that the three MLAs told during interrogation that they were going to Mandarmani in the East Medinipur district.

He claimed that with this money he was going to buy sarees in Barabazar. Sarees are procured every year for the Jharkhand festival.
