At the same time, epidemic mortality is 1.40 percent. On August 7 last year, the number of infected people in the country was 20 lakh, on 23 August 30 million, and on 5 September more than 40 lakh.

22,42,58,293 samples examined so far.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), so far 22,42,58,293 specimens have been corona-tested in the country. Of these, 7,78,416 samples were examined on Wednesday.

Highest deaths in Maharashtra.

Of the 126 people who died during the last 24 hours, 54 are from Maharashtra, 17 from Punjab, and 14 from Kerala. Maharashtra also tops the total deaths.

So far, 52,610 people have died due to this epidemic. This is followed by 12,530 deaths in Tamil Nadu and 12,379 in Karnataka.

More than 85 percent of cases from six states.

The Union Health Ministry said on Thursday that these six states accounted for 85.91 percent of the total cases reported in the country in the last 24 hours.
