The local body is full of corrupt employees, and will not be allowed to continue: Kerala CM Vijayan’s warning.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday said that there are many greedy and corrupt people in the local bodies in the state.

His government will take strict action against such people. Speaking at an event, the Chief Minister said that there are people in the local bodies who think that it is their right to demand money.

Instead of working honestly and despite having a job, they become greedy and illegally ask for bribes for any of their work.

The local body is full of corrupt employees: There are a large number of people who amass wealth illegally.

Pinarayi Vijayan said such persons, who have accumulated property illegally, are in large numbers in the local bodies.

Representatives of local self-government institutions should intervene and take action on such issues. You should not close your eyes.

The government will not encourage such practices.

The CM said that everyone knows where such greedy people are and such persons should know that if they continue with their corrupt practices then they have to go there and stay there.

He clarified that his government would not encourage such practices.

Thrikkakara by-poll was important for Vijayan.

Voting will be held on Tuesday for the Thrikkakara by-poll. This election is very important for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Leader of the Opposition VD Satheshan.

Let us tell you that in the assembly elections held in April 2021, 1,94,113 voters exercised their franchise. Whereas this time the number of voters has increased to 1,96,805.

By-elections are being held after the death of Congress leader PT Thomas.

Last time Congress veteran PT Thomas had won the Thrikkakara assembly seat by a margin of 14,329 votes.

He passed away in December last year, due to which the Congress has fielded his widow Uma Thomas.

At the same time, the CPI(M) has fielded a young interventional cardiologist Joe Joseph and the BJP has fielded veteran leader AN Radhakrishnan.
