The fire broke out in a coach of Shatabdi Express coming from New Delhi to Dehradun, stirred up.

A fire broke out on the train. The loco pilot stopped the train in the jungle by applying an emergency brake. Immediately the coach was evacuated.

With this, this coach has been separated from the train and other coaches have been saved safely. All passengers aboard this train are safe.

The incident is reported to be around 12:30 pm on Saturday afternoon. When the Shatabdi Express was passing through the Kansro Range of Rajaji Tiger Reserve, there was a sudden fire in the (C5) coach of the train.

The passengers in the coach pulled the emergency chain and informed the loco pilot. Immediately after the emergency brake in the loco pilot, the train was stopped near the Concaro Range.

As soon as the train stopped, 35 passengers in the coach, including luggage, came out. The staff present on the train immediately cut this (C5) coach in the middle of the train and separated it from the rest of the coaches.

The passengers of that coach were shifted to the forward coach.

Thankfully, nobody was harmed in the meantime. On seeing the whole bogey was engulfed by flames. Only the Forest Department post is present at the place where the accident took place.

On receiving the information, the employees of the forest department reached the spot with their personal resources. They tried to extinguish the fire, but the fire was so terrible that the entire bogie was burnt in a while.

An eyewitness on the spot and RP Nautiyal, Range Officer of Kansaro Forest Range, said that no passenger was harmed.

The power supply of the rail line was also cut off immediately after the incident. He said that the cause of the fire is being told as a short circuit.

At the moment, even railway officials were not able to reach the spot yet. The place or accident is in the dense forest area of ​​Rajaji Tiger Reserve, where it is not easy to reach even by road.

In this regard, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Rekha Sharma said that all 35 passengers aboard the C-5 coach of Shatabdi Express were on fire.

All passengers have been shifted to another coach and sent to Dehradun. He said that the cause of the fire is being investigated.

Rekha Sharma said that a total of 316 passengers have landed in Dehradun, who have been provided all assistance at the station by railway employees. DRM Tarun Prakash has left for the spot along with the team of officials.
