Kerala BJP President’s secretary questioned in highway robbery case, Congress demands judicial inquiry BJP’s Kerala unit president K. Surendran’s secretary Deepan.

He was questioned by the team probing the Kodkara alleged black money dacoity case at Thrissur police club on Saturday. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the police had summoned Deepan.

The Congress has demanded the Chief Minister to conduct a judicial inquiry into the matter.

On April 7, the report filed at the Kozhikode police station said that on April 3, a car traveling on the Kozhikode-Kochi national highway had lost its way. The miscreants robbed Rs 25 lakh from that car.

During investigation, it was found that the amount looted was Rs 3.5 crore and the BJP was supposed to use it for election expenses. So far, many BJP leaders have been questioned in this case.

However, Surendran has said that BJP leaders have nothing to do with that amount. An attempt is being made to defame the BJP and its leaders under a well-planned conspiracy.

Congress MP K. Muraleedharan urged Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to conduct a judicial inquiry into the matter under the supervision of a retired judge from the Kerala High Court or Supreme Court.

He said that the present police investigation is not going to draw any conclusions. The convener of the ruling Left Democratic Front, A. Vijayaraghavan had also accused the BJP of using hawala money in the elections.
