Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai got ‘Y’ category security, intelligence agencies had expressed the danger.

The Union Home Ministry has asked Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai has been provided ‘Y’ category security.

This would be in addition to the security cover provided by the State Police and would be a security cover of the CRPF.

Under this, armed security officers of CID, the security wing of the state police, will guard their security for 24 hours.

Threat to life.

Let us inform you that intelligence agencies had recently sent a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs stating the threat to the life of former IPS officer-turned-politician Annamalai.

It is worth noting that only last month, several petrol bombs were hurled at BJP’s regional headquarters Kamalayam and one of them was also on fire, after which a person was arrested by the police.

In view of all this, the Ministry of Home Affairs has taken the step of giving Y class security to Annamalai.

Annamalai is known as Singham.

Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai was an IPS officer before joining politics.

He took over as a police officer from Karkala in Karnataka’s Udupi district in 2013 and became the SP in 2015 from Udupi itself.

After this, in October 2018, he was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Bangalore South. Significantly, Annamalai was famous for his strictness while holding all these posts.

During his tenure, he had started a campaign among students against drug use and got the name of Singham for all these works.

He also promoted the wearing of helmets, working strictly on women’s safety along with traffic rules.
