The former US President has said this in his brief statement after the Taliban captured the Presidential Palace in Kabul. The White House did not comment on the rapidly changing developments in Kabul.

President Joe Biden was taking a weekend break at Camp David. He has a meeting with his top national security advisers through video conferencing about the current situation in Afghanistan.

Taliban capture Kabul: Nikki Haley, a former US ambassador to the United Nations, has called the Taliban occupation of Kabul a failure of the Biden administration.

He said it was unfortunate to beg the Taliban to get out safely. The families of American soldiers who made sacrifices in Afghanistan would not have imagined this situation.

Responding to these statements, current Foreign Minister Antony Blinken said that he has not asked for anything from the Taliban.

Asked about recognition of the Taliban government, Blinken said a future government that does not uphold the basic rights of women.
