Taiwan refutes China’s claim of access to Penghu Island, saying – the video is exaggerated: China Vs Taiwan.

Tensions between China and Taiwan have escalated since US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. Both the countries are getting embroiled in new controversies with each passing day.

On Monday, China said one of its planes had come very close to the island of Penghu, which is under Taiwan’s jurisdiction. Now Taiwan claims that China is lying.

Taiwan has accused China of tampering and exaggerating footage of the islands. Taiwan said the Chinese military published footage of the Penghu islands, where Taiwan has a major airport.

China claims to have entered Penghu Island.

Indeed, on Monday, the Eastern Theater Command of the People’s Liberation Army released a video of the Penghu Islands, taken by the closest Chinese Air Force aircraft.

China claimed that its planes had gone too close to Penghu Island.

But Taiwan rejected China’s claim. Taiwan Air Force’s Vice Chief of Staff for Operations, Tung Pei-lun, told reporters in Taipei that the video released by China was information warfare.

Taiwan’s Defense Ministry on Monday released a map giving updates on the activities of the Chinese Air Force around Taiwan and said that on the day China is claiming to have come close to Penghu Island, the closest planes to China there.

There were four J-16 fighters in the air. Chinese planes crossed the Taiwan Strait midline, an unofficial barrier between the two sides.

Taiwan said that the Chinese planes were close to the Chinese coast, not Penghu, as shown on the map.

China’s access to Penghu Island is a challenge.

Significantly, there are many small islands around Taiwan. Many of these are in the Gulf of Taiwan. The Matsu Islands and Kinmen Island are adjacent to the Chinese border.

While Penghu Island is close to the southwest coast of Taiwan, reaching where is a challenging task for China. Penghu is quite popular among tourists for its beaches, rocks and seafood
