South films trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan has given information about Kanguva’s Oscar entry on his official x account. In his tweet, a list of Academy Awards has been released, in which Kanguva’s name is also there.
It is being told that Kanguva has presented its claim in the Best Feature Film category. However, it is yet to be shortlisted for nomination. This time around 323 films had presented their claim for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards, out of which 207 movies have been shortlisted.
Now it will be interesting to see whether Surya’s Kanguva is able to move forward in the Oscar Awards 2025 or not. Earlier, the film Missing Ladies made in Aamir Khan’s production house has already been out of the Oscar race.

When will the voting for nominations take place?
Voting for the nominations of the movies shortlisted for the 97th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards will start on January 8, and will continue till January 12. After this, the movies to be nominated in Oscar 2025 will be officially announced on January 17.
