Zydus Cadila had in July sought approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for the emergency use of its corona vaccine ZyCoV-D, which has now been received.
This will be the fifth corona vaccine in the country. The vaccine has been prepared by the company Zydus Cadila.
This will be the world’s first DNA-based vaccine that will be given to children between the ages of 12 and 18. Zydus Cadila’s vaccine ZyCoV-D is the first vaccine for children in the country.
Zyvox-D will be a needle-free vaccine. This vaccine will be administered with a jet injector. There will be three doses of this vaccine.
The second dose will be given 28 days after the first and the third after 58 days. The results that came after the trial of this vaccine show that it is 66.6 percent effective in preventing corona infection.
Zydus Cadila claims that this vaccine is also effective on the delta variant of Corona. Phase-3 trials of Jaykov-D were conducted on 28,000 people. There were 1000 of them, whose age was 12-18 years.
