Sidhu And His Supporters Became A Headache For The Congress

Sidhu and his supporters became a headache for the Congress high command, it is not easy to keep their supporters.

The stand of state president Navjot Singh Sidhu and his supporters in the tussle of Punjab Congress has not only increased the headache of the party high command but has also increased the challenge.

The way in charge of the state Congress General Secretary Harish Rawat’s statement of contesting elections under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh has been rejected by Sidhu through his supporters, it is clear that the party’s turmoil in Punjab is not going to calm down so easily.

The party leadership has also realized that it is not easy to control Sidhu by simple political gimmicks.

Harish Rawat had to show leniency under pressure from Sidhu’s supporters.

In view of this, Harish Rawat, in charge of the state, had to clarify the statement of entering the election field under the leadership of Captain.

This statement of the party in charge of Punjab is clearly a sign of the Congress leadership being on the defensive in the current turmoil in the state.

Whereas after meeting the ministers-MLAs who raised the flag against Captain Amarinder Singh and started the rebellion against him.

Harish Rawat had bluntly announced in Dehradun last Wednesday that the Congress would contest the elections in 2022 under the leadership of Captain.

In a day or two, the leadership will try again to reconcile Amarinder-Sidhu.

After this, after coming to Delhi and meeting Congress President Sonia Gandhi and then former President Rahul Gandhi.

Even after discussing the political situation in the state, reiterated on Saturday that there is no rebellion against Captain.

The party will contest the elections under his leadership. The Congress leadership is also understood to have allowed Rawat to show fear of action to quell the current turmoil.

But in the last two days, the way Sidhu’s staunch supporter MLA Pargat Singh raised the question while rejecting Harish Rawat’s statement, the party’s strategists are also shocked.

He says that Sidhu and his supporters are well aware that the general secretary in charge cannot make such an important statement in the political upheaval of an important state like Punjab without the consent of the leadership.

In this context, Sidhu and his supporters sent a veiled message that they did not accept the high command’s strategy of keeping the Captain as the head of the leadership in an attempt to strike a balance in Punjab.

They will not shy away from openly challenging the matter.

The fresh rhetoric in the current ruckus should not worsen the matter, so Rawat on Monday gave a round-up explanation on his statement about the leadership of the Captain.
