Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has submitted its report. Devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi should not be worried, there will be a controlled crowd, the journey will be safe.

Many steps will be taken to control the crowd on the Yatra route so that no untoward incident like stampede happens again at the Bhawan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.

The building will have separate entry and exit routes for the passengers to see. Four resting places will be built on the yatra route, where devotees will be stopped and released if there is a crowd.

The group system will be restored and the tracking of passengers will also be done.

This year, a committee constituted by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has submitted its report to the government.

12 passengers were killed and many were injured in a stampede in the building on New Year’s Eve.

In this report, apart from the reasons for the incident, it has been recommended for the better conduct of yatra and crowd control.

The committee constituted under the supervision of Home Secretary Shaleen Kabra included Additional DGP Jammu Mukesh Singh and Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Raghav Langar.

Union MOS Home Nityanand Rai has also recently told in Parliament that the committee was formed after the death of passengers in a stampede at the building of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi on New Year.

He also informed about better management of travel.

He said that steps have been taken for radiofrequency identification-based crowd management, additional CCTVs, additional deployment of J&K Police and CRPF in the building.

Here are the recommendations:

Four resting places will be built: On the 13 km route of Mata Vaishno Devi’s journey, four halts or rest places will be made, where passengers will be stopped if the building becomes crowded.

After this, a limited number of devotees will be sent further. These resting places are proposed to be built on the Yatra route at Katra, Charan Paduka, Adkunwari, and Sanjichhat.

Evacuation route: The Shrine Board will make a passage on the building from the cave to Manokamna Bhawan, which will be used for the pilgrims to come out after darshan.

To go for darshan, devotees will proceed from the first route on the building.

Group System for Devotees: The Board is working on a proposal to restore the Group System.

In this, a group number will be given to the group of devotees. In this, only one devotee included in the group will have to stand in the queue.

Tracking Card System: According to sources, the Shrine Board will also introduce Tracking Card System, which will be given to every passenger.

Every passenger will be tracked with the card. This will help in better management of travel. Completely online registration is also proposed.
