Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Has Been Canceled Due To Covid-19

Shri Amarnath Ji yatra has been canceled: Amarnath Yatra 2021. Jammu Chamber of Commerce demands reconsideration of the decision to cancel Shri Amarnath Yatra.

In view of the situation arising out of corona infection, this year also the annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath has been canceled.

This is the second year in a row that there will be no travel. However, like last time, worship will be done in the holy cave in the traditional way.

Shiva devotees sitting at home will be able to watch the live telecast of the morning and evening aarti in the holy cave of Baba Barfani. But the journey will be only symbolic.

Jammu Chamber of Commerce chief Arun Gupta said that today’s decision has disappointed the business community.

This will have a direct impact on their business. The government should review its decision. Instead, the number of devotees can be reduced.

If elections can be held, why not the Yatra:

Shri Baba Barfani Langar Organization said that it is not the right decision to cancel the Amarnath Yatra despite the decrease in the cases of Corona.

Organization President Vijay Thakur, General Secretary Rajan Gupta, and other officials said that if elections and Kumbh Mela can be organized in many states, then why not travel.

The Shrine Board has decided to cancel the Yatra in view of the safety of the devotees.

Let us inform you that in the year 2019, the yatra was stopped midway. The journey got canceled in the year 2020 due to Corona and this year also the journey has been canceled due to Corona.

The Lieutenant Governor and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board Chairman Manoj Sinha held a meeting with the members of the Shrine Board on Monday and deliberated extensively on the issue.

The board members gave their views in the meeting. Apart from this, along with many officers including the Chief Secretary, all aspects regarding the yatra were also looked into.

After that, it was decided to cancel the trip.

The Lieutenant Governor stressed that the saints who reach the holy cave have to perform aarti and for this, it is necessary that the guidelines issued for the prevention of corona are strictly followed.

The live telecast of Aarti:

Board’s Chief Executive Officer Nitishwar Kumar said that Shri Amarnath Shrine Board understands the faith of lakhs of Shiva devotees and respects their sentiments.

Therefore, arrangements have been made for them to broadcast Aarti live.

Aarti will be telecast live for half an hour every day at 6 am and 5 pm on the official website of the board, Shri amarnathjishrine.com/artilive.html, and phone prime channel.

Aarti can also be seen on the Shrine Board’s mobile-based app, which can be downloaded from Google Play Store.

Shri Amarnath Ji yatra: Arrangements will be made for Chadi Mubarak:

Board’s Chief Executive Officer Nitishwar Kumar said that arrangements will be made for Chadi Mubarak at the conclusion of the yatra on Raksha Bandhan on August 22.

He said that the board has reviewed the situation of Corona in Jammu and Kashmir and the country. Our effort is to curb corona and strengthen the health infrastructure.

There was confusion about the Yatra:

The decision was given to start the Shri Amarnath Yatra from June 28 and the Yatra was for 56 days, which was to be completed on August 22, the day of Raksha Bandhan.

Advance registration for the yatra started from April 1, but due to the situation arising out of Corona, the board had stopped it midway.

There was confusion about the journey for the past several days.

The Lieutenant Governor had also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Union Home Secretary during his recent visit to Delhi on the issue of travel.
