Sanjay Raut had hoped that his custody would end today but the court has extended his judicial custody till September 5.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut’s troubles increased: Significantly, Sanjay Raut is accused of money laundering in the Patra Chawl land scam.

In fact, in 2007, the work of redevelopment of Patra Chawl located in Siddharth Nagar, Goregaon was given by MDA to Guru Ashish Construction Company of Praveen Raut, a relative of Sanjay Raut.

Here more than 3500 flats were to be given to the people by building a house on 47 acres of MDA land. Even after 14 years, flats were not given to them. After this, the victims approached the court.

Sanjay Raut is currently lodged in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail. He has demanded home food and a separate bed citing poor health.

On this, the court has said that this can be done after the investigation of the doctors. NCP leaders Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh are also lodged in Arthur Road jail.

However, the court has allowed Raut that he can eat homemade food and also take medicines.

Addressing Shiv Sena workers in Mumbai, former chief minister Thackeray said the people of Maharashtra were waiting for the assembly elections to “teach a lesson to the betrayers”.

He said that the Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis government does not have the courage to hold mid-term assembly elections. “They cannot function without ‘khokha’ (a box full of money),” Thackeray said.
