Shimla Mosque Dispute: Protests erupted in Shimla over the Sanjauli mosque dispute, leading to a lathi charge on Hindu organizations. Traders kept markets closed in protest, demanding action against the Shimla police and the mosque’s illegal construction. On Wednesday, thousands of protesters associated with Hindu organizations were protesting in Sanjauli in violation of Section 163. Shimla police lathi-charged the crowd to disperse them. Many protesters were also seriously injured during this lathi charge. Many police personnel were also injured.

In protest against this, the traders of Shimla kept the market closed from 10 am to 1 pm. Not only the capital Shimla but the markets of the suburbs also remained completely closed. Common people had to wait till 1 pm for the markets to open to do shopping. The businessmen protested against the action taken by Shimla Police against the protesters.
Shimla mosque dispute: Vyapar Mandal took out a rally
Shimla Vyapar Mandal also took out a protest march from Sher-e-Punjab Chowk to CTO Chowk. During this, the traders raised slogans against the state government and Shimla district administration. Apart from this, slogans were also raised against the Shimla Superintendent of Police and Shimla Police.
During this, the businessmen have demanded the dismissal of the district’s Superintendent of Police. He said that people of the Hindu community were deliberately lathi-charged. The businessmen of the city will not tolerate this under any circumstances.
Unarmed Hindu protesters
Shimla Vyapar Mandal member Sanjeev Thakur said that on Wednesday, the police lathi-charged unarmed Hindu protesters. Many people were injured in this. He termed it very unfortunate. Sanjeev Thakur said that the local businessmen want the dismissal of Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi.
He said that the government should dismiss him as soon as possible. Along with this, he has also raised the demand to take action on the construction of the illegal mosque in Sanjauli as soon as possible. Sanjeev Thakur said that right now this protest is being seen only in Shimla, but in the coming time, this protest can also become state-wide.
