Renaming of Aurangabad To Sambhajinagar: Maharashtra. The issue of the renaming of Aurangabad to Sambhajinagar again sparked off between the Congress and the Shiv Sena.

The matter of renaming Aurangabad city of Maharashtra to Sambhajinagar has once again been hot.

Congress, a constituent of the ruling coalition in the state, has bluntly opposed any proposal to rename the city.

It has also been warned that it is not a part of the Common Minimum Program (CMP) of the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

Whereas, four months later, in view of the elections to the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation, the Shiv Sena is trying to put its three-decade-old movement on the political table again.

SS has expressed that this is an emotional issue for them, as the party’s founder Balasaheb Thackeray demanded the naming of Sambhajinagar. Now only the paperwork has to be completed.

Shiv Sena said – will not affect the alliance, will solve the issue

Shiv Sena has made it clear that this issue will not have any effect on the alliance and the leaders of the constituents will sit together and resolve it.

On the other hand, members of the Maratha community demonstrated on Sunday against the stand of the Congress.

While Union Minister and RPI (A) leader Ramdas Athawale has said that Uddhav Thackeray’s government may fall on the issue of renaming.

Congress announced to oppose any proposal for nomination

State Congress President Balasaheb Thorat announced this week that his party would strongly oppose any proposal to change the name of Aurangabad.

The Shiv Sena said on Saturday that it was confident that MVA members would find a solution.

The Shiv Sena has pointed out in its mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ that this attitude of the Congress may please the BJP, but this opposition of the Congress is old.

Therefore, it would be stupid to associate it with the alliance.

On the other hand, BJP has said that Congress and Shiv Sena are doing politics and drama on this matter. BJP MLA Ram Kadam said, “They have decided that one will propose and the other will oppose.”

While Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi has said that this matter is nothing but vote bank politics.

AIMIM MP from Aurangabad, Imtiaz Jalil says that the history of a place cannot be changed merely by changing its name.

Instead of spending crores of rupees in changing the name of the city, why does the government not spend that amount on infrastructure development.
