Rafia Nazir was also among the 24 injured in a grenade attack by terrorists at Amirakadal in Srinagar on Sunday.

While the whole world was preparing to celebrate Women’s Day on Monday, everyone was hurt by the brutal murder of Kashmir’s daughter.

There is anger among common Kashmiris due to this heinous act of terrorists. In view of this public outrage, no terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.

At night, people in Srinagar also took out a candle march in memory of Rafia and termed this terrorist violence as unfair. The number of people who lost their lives in this attack has now increased to two.

People burnt candles and asked them to stop the killings of innocent people.

Rafia had secured 94 percent marks in the recently announced class 12th J&K Board exam. She was preparing for NEET.

On Sunday, she was walking along with her mother and sister towards the Ganikhan market in Amirakadal. Then the terrorists attacked with a grenade.

A Sunday market is held on the footpath in Amirakadal and its adjoining areas. There is a huge crowd of people.

Elderly Abdul Salam Makhdoomi was killed instantly in this grenade attack. Rafia had grenade shrapnel in her head.

People burnt candles and asked them to stop the killings of innocent people.

Worrying about others even when injured:

When Rafia fell on the ground after being hit by a grenade, she did not worry about herself but asked her mother about others.

She said that my head is hurting, maybe something is felt, but you do not panic. Blood was also pouring from her sister’s wounds.

Her mother felt that Rafia was not hurt much, but on Monday she lost the battle of life.

When the funeral took place, every eye became moist:

A large number of people attended the funeral of Rafia Nazir. When her funeral took place, every eye became moist.

Her elderly relative, Fahmida Begum, said to those who threw the grenade, God bless them, they should not get a place even in the dump.

Akhtar Wani, who was involved in the funeral, said that there is a lot of anger among the people.

The grenade throwers have targeted common Kashmiris. They kill unarmed people. Eight children were injured in this attack.

Father’s hope remained unfulfilled.

Rafia’s father Nazir Ahmed said that his daughter was the hope of the entire family. She used to say that she will cure my back pain. She used to say that she would give free treatment to the people here.

Seeing her books, my heart comes to my mouth. Teacher Inayat Hussain Teli said that no one has ever seen her angry.

She just used to say that God has spared life, just want to become a doctor and then serve the people. Rafia has two brothers and a sister.

Both brothers work. Her sister has studied only till the 10th standard. Her father is a carpet weaver. The whole family encouraged her to study.
