Public interest and tolerance is the true spirit of religion, the need to inculcate the ideals of Swami Vivekananda among the youth: Chief Justice.

Chief Justice of India NV Ramana said on Sunday that Swami Vivekananda believed that the true spirit of religion is public interest and tolerance.

Religion should be above superstitions and stereotypes. In order to fulfill the dream of building a resurgent India based on the principles of tolerance, we must inculcate the ideals of Swamiji in the youth.

He was addressing a function organized to mark the 22nd Foundation Day of Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence Hyderabad and 128 years of Swami Vivekananda’s historic speech in Chicago.

The Chief Justice said that Swami Vivekananda in his speech had put forth the idea of ​​tolerance and universal acceptance in front of the world.

He said that Vivekananda had assessed the dangers faced by the nations and civilizations due to class struggle in the society.

At present, it is necessary that the words spoken by Swami Vivekananda in 1893 should be looked into.

Swami Vivekananda believed that the true spirit of religion is contained in public interest and tolerance. People should rise above religious superstitions and stereotypes.

The Chief Justice said that in order to fulfill the dream of New India through the principles of public interest and tolerance, it is necessary to inculcate the ideals of Swamiji in the youth of today.

Swami Vivekananda also believed that the youth of India is the link connecting our past with the bright future.

The CJI further said that if we have firm faith in our minds then anything is possible. The Chief Justice also advised the youth to be active in sports activities to stay healthy.

Appealing to the educational institutions, he said that there is a need to create awareness among the students about the rights and prohibitions.
